How it all started…
Years in “Making”
Years of Gathering and Making! Vintage textiles and fibers, repurposed and reinvisioned into one of a kind items for Home, Garden and to Wear!
Since childhood, I’ve been gathering old “treasures”. I went antiquing with my Mom…I learned to sew from my Mom, knit from my Nana, cut wool & hooked rugs from My Aunt Peg, and saw spinning wool from My Aunt Carol…garden, animals and outdoors from my Dad…so Making and Nature has been a natural part of how I see living life!
Problem solving and how to make things work was a big part of growing up. I believe this has made me pretty independent, confident and able to improvise. Finding a different use for leftover textiles has always been the fun, creative part and I am glad it adds in a small way to reducing waste, and encouraging a more sustainable lifestyle.
I love the hunt for unique, quality textiles, whether a blouse or an embroidered linen or vintage barkcloth or wool...finding these treasures that may have a bit of whimsy, nostalgia or charm catch my eye. Next, going through the cleaning and sorting process of the finds, sparks the ideas…for shapes, function and color combinations.
I so enjoy sharing my finished “wares” with folks! To chat, inspire and have some fun sharing the creative, artisan, and maker influences in all our lives. Thank you for taking a look and for your continued support.
